Not yet, from myself anyway. I am putting a little tutorial together, like a fast track to making top down, third person games, like Zelda on the DS perhaps, or one of those arcadey zombie shooters - but it could easily be a good start for more traditional third person games too.
Will have a level editor, low poly character and enemies, collision, controls, attacking with swords, wearing hats, jumping. I'm gonna try and keep it as neat and understandable as possible - but anyway that won't be done for like 2 weeks.
If it sounds like something you want to check out, maybe spend the time learning some character modelling and animation. There's a lot of stuff posted over in the 3D chat area, if you can make your own characters, then you'll see how to get them moving and jumping before very long. It would be like a fast track to making a third person game engine.
