well I already posted it in the bugs forum nickydude's thread but I decided to put it here to get more responses. My problem is the frame rate I already know the cause but do not have a single idea on solving it(screenies attached). The cause is there are too much polygon processing in a nine pieces of segments? the floor I use is the stock one called 'ground' tried it with different room segments and entities but reamain to a very low 25 fps. Many people say's that they're getting a constant of 78 fps! but mine is only 25 so far

My specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7250 @2.00GHz 2.00GHz
Windows Vista 32 bit
2.50 GB Memory(RAM)
10.5gb rom
I'm using a Presario V3500 Notebook PC

I'm guessing you have some form of integrated graphics card? If so that's your 'problem' right there.

weird...My config is similliar

Core2Quad Q6600 @ 2,41Ghz
2GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512Mb

but i'm running with a constant 60 fps.

@ da2020, my guess is you're having issues because of the notebook.although if you didn't have an fps drop before, theres something in the update that your notebook doesn't fully support probably..

the integrated video card is a problem if you have one

From what I've seen so far, the yellow bar threshold is highly dependent on hardware. If you have an integrated graphics card, you can pretty much forget about running with post-processing (bloom and DoF) enabled. How you have your graphic card's AA and AF set will also affect things.

The good news, is that as long as you are getting 25FPS or greater, the gameplay will still feel more or less the same as someone getting 60FPS because of the timer system keeping the general feel similar to pre-117 FPSC when getting 33-38FPS. The difference should mostly be limited to refresh rate and the occasional screen tearing if whipping the mouse about.

I have a pretty mediocre (3.4 win rating)notebook (1.86 T5550 Duo, 4GB RAM, 256MB Nvidia 9300MG). With post-processing enabled my FPS takes a huge hit; there just isnt enough VRAM to handle rendering everything twice (or however it does it). With simple 2x3 seg room the yellow bar can easily be 70% full and I max it regulary (esp. when I have AF and AA turned up). The FPS may bounce between 25-60 FPS but there really isn't much of a noticeable difference and the gameplay stays fine.

Nobody is getting 78 fps because v117 is capped at 60.

My rig was high end about 18 months ago and with V117 I'm getting a constant 60 fps even with a room full of AI enemies / allies and shaders / post processing enabled.

Anyone experiencing frame rate problems with this update can only be hardware related.

I get a nice framerate of 60, make sure your not overloading the level with stuff, keep an eye on the resource meter

Who the hell is General Failure? And why is he trying to read my hard disk?

My software never has bugs. It just develops random features.

V117 is not capped at 60. It is capped at the refresh rate of your monitor.

No, it's capped to 60, my screen refresh rate is 75 and it's still 60 and My PC would handle 75 just finr.

@ Errant AI, how do you enable Anti-aliasing and Ansiotropic filtering for the V1.17?

Having it capped to your Refresh rate makes sense. I have my monitor set at 75hz, and I get a constant of 75 frames a second.

Too much to do with too little time.

I bet if FPSC were optimized to work with SLi, than it would be much better for gameplay speed with post processing FX.

PLEASE LEE OPTIMIZE FOR SLI

I am having the same problem. With 1.16 and project blue I could run 50-57 fps in hallways and rooms and 30-45 fps while fighting multiple enemies or out in the open. With 1.17 and all post processing turn off I am only getting 28 fps test game and 18 fps after a buildgame. I am running a 4 month old laptop with integrated graphics but if 1.16 and project blue can handle it why not 1.17?

operating stats
T4400 2.20 ghz
512 MB video memory plus 10% available RAM resources allocated to video
4 gig ram
windows 7 64 bit.
