If you had to chose one game made with FPS Creator that would be a good example of what can be accomplished with FPSC, which would it be?

Here look at these threads:

The NEW Best of the Best (BOTB):

The old BOTB Archives:

The Very Best of the Best (VBOTB):

and the old VBOTB winner, before the "incident":

Hope this helps! Keep in mind that with the new update v1.17 (the migration) and mods (especially Project Blue and Fenix Mod), new, amazing possibilities will open up for FPSC devs. Not to mention that Project Blue in a few updates will include the migration source and integrate Fenix Mod into itself (insert maniacal laughter here ) but the BOTB(s) would be where to start.

Well now that 1.17 is out, theres going to be even better games than the VBOTB. That will be known as the 2010-2011 VBOTB

Each and every FPSC game is a valuable source to learn.

You take the good things from the better ones and avoid the mistakes from the not so good ones.

In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^

Thats a

Moving on, I think the new user should download 5 games, all with positive reviews, not all BOTB, but games that ratings are high, and seem intresting. That would be a great kick off start to see what you can and what you can't do. Each one of them should be totally different. One should be a non/less shooter game where killing is not the main objective, to prove FPSC can make other games besides shooters. The other four should be shown to FPSC's purpose and full potential in shooter games, being what most people came here for, probally searching "First person shooter maker"

But for what actual games you should play, I wouldn't have many suggestions. I tried the Umbra Demo, which I suggest, mainly just to prove FPSC can be used for other things besides shooters. The reason I haven't tried many games is because I spent a huge amount of time downloading Red Shift, just to get Norton to hype up and destroy it all. Since I learned from fighting with Norton (Many destroyed computers), I decided to listen to it (for once!) and stop for now.

Of course, I wish I could get another game. I'll try whatever makes VBOTB.

@JonnieR, welcome to the forums, enjoy your stay.

@Monkey Mja, Sorry to hear you had any problems with RS, I would like to be able to help in any way, or learn more about the issues you had.

You mention a huge amount of time downloading? The file size is very compairable to many other demos, at only 139.43 MB. I wish I could offer you a smaller option if you dont have fast speeds.

Also you had a problem with Nortan, Ive heard of Nortan playing up before over the past few years. However this is the first time related to RS. What did Nortan do in its dedection process, that caused a problem?
Anyway, added u to msn. Chat to u soon.
