So, when I was installing the program, it worked. I started using it, opened up a premade program, compiled it and this came up:
This application has failed to start because d3dx9_35.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
???What??
I tried reinstalling and it didn't work. Please help!

It just means that you haven't got the required version of DirectX 9.0c installed : Download and run The DirectX Web Installer

(and yes, you need this even though you've got DX10/DX11, and no it won't break your existing DX either)
