No. May I suggest a GeForce 9500GS/GT? My old Geforce GS 512mb ran X10 as well as my new 9800GT 1GB.

I think 9500GS is only $50 or so.

That's a ridiculously overpriced card for running X10. 9500GS is absolutely fine.

thats stupid to think its just for running X10.

maybe hes going to go off and learn a lower end language, or actually play a game

do you know how long that card could last him if he buys it? 2-3 years before he should update to keep up.

and really?? you cant remember "GTX 285"?

Yes. I didn't at all need to replace mine. I ran BC2 and Crysis (on high, nonetheless) with that card.
Why should he spend $300 on a card when a $50 card is fine?

Don't go for 1st when 2nd's fine.

Don't snap at him! He's trying to help you. That card is so old you don't even need to ask. You need a DX10 or DX11 card!

I didnt snap at him. I'm just tired of forum ppl telling you to search, when they don't know if you've searched already. I read that post completely, 100%, and I didnt see my card there... so i asked. which is what a forum is there for.

Thats not what you said. You said

"GIGABYTE GV-N285UD-1GH GeForce GTX 285 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card"

why didnt you just say GTX 285?
