Hi,

I found this Zombie Walk pack:
http://www.iclonetemplate.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_id=6&flypage=flypage.pbv.tpl&product_id=44&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=11&vmcchk=1&Itemid=11

It is obviously models from pack 39.
Is bond1 collaborating with this?

Insomnia is coming...

Well I do know that he can sell his models outside of TGC if he wants to, thing I see about the description is spelling errors and such which he isn't inclined to do, unless it was written by someone on their store, or he was tired or drunk or both.....he will likely come along and pipe in soon enough.

Nope I had nothing to do with this. Pretty bold to just take them and resell them as is (for a higher price).

The site looks new, they only have a few products for sale. Not sure what to do though, I'm sure if I contacted them through their support address I'd either get ignored or maybe an "FU" response.

I agree with Red Eye.

I am not sure if Paypal is also taking actions about selling illegal things thru them. but its worth to try. ( maybe he will lose his account or something)

Bond, I would email Rick if you haven't already. Your selling your media through TGC, so it's in their interest to act on this as well, before they take more media and sell it on. I'm sure there's something that TGC can do, even contacting PayPal and informing them of the legalities of supporting that site.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will email Rick as I'm sure he has more experience on how to shut these sites down.

I've seen many pirating sites that offer my packs for free, but this is the first time I've seen a site that is trying to SELL one of my packs as their own for profit, which is especially heinous.

Hilarious, that sure got removed quickly! It was taken down in a matter of hours.... Did someone else report it, or perhaps it's a forum lurker that saw that the jig was up?

Yeah... It's unfair, as the This is Sparta guy can jump from that end and beat me to the ground and then get back, but I can't go to that end...

I remember my days at RC forums and people always getting slapped for using models from the (so called) FREE 3D Model sites, only to find out the models are all stolen.

It's very hard these days to google something without page after page of rapidshare links.

I emailed them about it.

Not sure if it's related to the removal, but I did do it.

Wow, that's something else.

Bad enough to give them, but to try and make profit off them?

I am so sick of these darn pirates.

I know. It really stinks. I too have been informed that my packs are being distributed on rapidshare links as well. Which is just plain stupid, since mine are Free to begin with.

Aye, Thar be pirates among us!

It's all cool! I still don't think I fully understand how this all went down, but I appreciate everyone's diligence in helping to snuff this out. Lord knows I'm pretty clueless when it comes to ISP's and all that legal stuff.

Thanks again everyone.

Pirates?!? Where?
lol
Hard to call them pirates if it was free anyway; more like re-distributers.

Quote: "@ Cosmic

We're keeping a watch for all your media as well as the other authors media too. "

Wow, I can see why Bond would not want his media to be sold by someone else, since he is charging for it and obviously wants to make some money off it.
That is piracy, and it is like stealing his money. (booo to that form of piracy)

I can see considering it piracy involving goods for sale like in Bond’s situation, but someone redistributing free stuff is hardly a pirate.
No, I am not taking up for pirates, or saying that I am one, because I am not a software pirate.
I’m just saying that I think anti-piracy can be taken to unfortunate extremes.

With that said; let it be known...
Any free contributions that I make to the community can certainly be redistributed, and anyone is more than welcome to benefit from it in any way they can.
However, any items that I offer for sale are for distribution exclusively by me on my website, or by TGC in the Game Creator Store.
So please, support us by respecting our distribution rights just as we support the community with our free media.
Thanks

Here! Here! I see your point about redistribution, Uggghh!, Sorry my last post did'nt come out the way I intended. My hands and my brain were'nt coperating.

I'm not meaning it stinks that my stuff is being redistributed on sites like rapidshare, because I do give full unninhibited usage rights.

It stinks that it happens to those, Like Bond1, and others, who have not given permission to do so.

I've developed a new philosophy... I only dread one day at a time.

Well it does really.
Its another issue entirely, many site owners rely on distributing free stuff to generate traffic, many distributors rely on free stuff to generate sales for their other commercial works or they may simply want to keep some kind of tabs on where their work is used, whatever the reason if the license states that the models, textures, software whatever should not be redistributed then it should be respected.
Its down to each creator what their license is, if you dontmind folks grabbing your stuff and posting wherever they like its up to yourself. I for one dont want my work posted without my permission free or not.
If the uploader wanted some kind of kudos for it they could have simply linked to it here or to FPS-Media site homepage as it should be done.

@ cosmic

some people do use rapidshare and other such sites for downloads on free things (like betas and free mmos etc) as they are normally quicker to download via rapidshare then the official sites. but its weird as your stuff is so small it seems kinda pointless!

you should hunt them down bond! and give them a little tickle with your fists :p...... man i love that teddy!

@Metaldevil123 - I agree, lets board there ship and make 'em walk the plank, arrrgh!

My mate got FPSC X10 of Pirate Bay, i told him that it would give him a virus, he went and installed it anyway. A day later all his files were gone... i just lolled my head of!!!

Anyway i think 'Iclone' could be up to more 'cloning' stuff due to the release of the new model packs
