Hello people, remember me? So many new people here I kind of feel silly for being so off-and-on in this place, but anyway.
Remember that gun I posted a while back? Saying I was going to make a tutorial on how I made it and post it on CG Tuts+? Yeah, after some fiddling with them changing editor and other stuff like that, it's finally up.
Here's the final product:

Quote: "Hard surface subdivision modeling can be a difficult concept to understand, however as it has become such a big part of today’s production environment, learning it has become much more of a necessity. Using the basic polygonal toolset, this 2-day, narrated timelapse tutorial covers the process of modeling a Luger P08, and is a great introduction to a standard SDS workflow in Maya."

Day 1: http://cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/autodesk-maya/modelling-a-luger-p08-using-subdivision-surfaces-in-maya-day-1/
Day 2: Here

It's been split into 5 different parts of a just about 2,5 hour video that'll be posted in two different section, the first one which was posted yesterday contains the first three parts and the next section that'll be posted by the end of the month will contain the rest.

I put some work into this so I hope you enjoy it to some extent.

More actual 3D work's going to be coming people as well if you care, I have some ideas I want to try.

I, um... um... you're... cool, Asteric.

Back on-topic...

That luger looks awesome, I never knew how to use subdivision well. I remember in one of my first 3D model threads, I think it was you who said 'Don't touch that Subdiv button!!!' But this is really cool, thank you

Edit: Oh wait, that wasn't you. Oh well, nice tut

I remember reacting similarly when I used to be on these forums more regularly to the fact that there are more people from the country of S here than just me heh.

And yeah Lazerus, I would change my avatar and signature and stuff, but I feel they're kind of iconic now.

I'll watch when I get home. I have a download from Autodesk for a Mac version of Maya, so I will need to learn how to use it.
