Font editor is designed to allow the (fairly) easy creation of bitmapped fonts. Its got commands for shifting each bitmap up, down, left and/or right, saving the graphics as bitmaps or as binary data.

Got a beta of the program on my web site in the Tech Demos section.

Very nice look forward to its completion... should really help for customization.

Indeed - the only (main) problem is that its too fast - should be easy enough to sort though.

I could do with a font editor. Most letters can be made from a number '8'. It would be a great idea to somehow automate the creation of all the other letters from a few basic rules. So you get the user to make a number 8, and a couple of other basic shapes, like hanging loops, then have the AI build all the other letters.

Hopefully, I'll be able to continue with it over the weekend.

The colour picker and grid size options are now up and running. Most of the saving routines need to be done next.

Not bad, it's always hard to find a good font editor. The scroll up/down/left/right with the numpad seems to slow/freeze the program greatly though.

I'm surprised - it shouldn't take a lot of processing power to scroll the bitmap around... What computer do you have ?

If you go to download.com you can find plenty of font creators there, and my fav (I make a few fonts with it, very flexable) is Font Creator Program 4(fcp4). Trial 30 days. But if you can make your font creator similar then i can't wait.

Hey what about 3D fonts?

I wont be continuing any more with it (as I really must start designing a game), so the code is in the Code Snippets section & on my web site.
