Hi I'm totally blind and trying to get started on the basics of audio game coding to make audio games for the blind. I was wondering how accessible Dark Basic is for the blind, and if there are any audio tutorials available? Also are the games created using Dark Basic playible for the blind? Many thanks from Kate

As far as I know Dark Basic doesn't have any special features to help the blind. Have you tried contacting TGC directly? http://www.thegamecreators.com/?m=contact
What do you mean by "audio games"?

There was a blind programmer here pushing the envelop for audio games in DBPro but unfortunately I haven't seen him around and don't remember his screen name. It was several years ago.

DBPro can play most audio files and loop music, and I'm pretty sure it does sound in 3D as well.

I'm sure that DBP can be used to make games for the blind. I don't know of any tutorials specifically designed for the blind but there are lots of people here who love to help newcomers get started!

Do you code in any other languages? I knew of someone from the VB.Net/VisBas lists that used something called Jaws to program with. I'm not sure if that will work with any program language or just the MS Visual Studio ones.

If it works just with MS IDE you could always use Dark GDK to program in C++ or DarkGDK.Net for C# or VB.Net.
