I have recently stumbled upon this software and i have fallen in love! Although, two major set backs!
First, I have literally no knowledge of BASIC or how to create script (which, from reading some of the forum posts, seems like a large part in order to get the desired effects to your game)
second, I am currently running this on my laptop, with crappy onboard graphics!!

The computer issue; i am sorting very soon as i can't stop playing with this software, but, any advice on how to get started properly so i can get the best and most efficiant fun, would be a massive help. Any keyboard shortcuts, anything simple that might not be apparent. ANYTHING really.

Thanks for reading (if you did)

Read the Official Community Guide. It will answer many, many questions you didn't know you had and get you started in the right direction. There are some good scripting tut's in there and if you give it a little time, you'll find that it really is a simple language to learn and use.

The manual is part of the install and you should find it in the FPSC directory. There should also be a shortcut in the start menu for it.

Have fun.

The Official Community Guide taught me how to script!, I now made over 4 scripts in 1 week!

I'd have to say........ The Game Creators can make dreams come true.

Unhelpful Titles

Please do not simply write "Noob Question", "I am a newb", "One Noobie Question", "A question", "Please help", "This isn't working" or anything similar as the title of your post. We have a search facility, and meaningless titles do not help others find answers to their questions. It will also help you to get quicker responses if people have an idea of your thread content.

I received the error:

File Not Found (effectbank\bumpcubereflectilluminatespec\bumpcubereflectilluminatespec.fx) info:effect for gun

Of course, under my efectbank folder i don't have it (the only closed by name I have BumpCubeReflectAlpha folder and .fx file)

Where I can find the bumpcubereflectilluminatespec to put in place?

Thanks

Thanks for the advice, i am trying to make a little level on my laptop as practice for when i get my new PC. I will have a look at the guides and see if i can teach myself scripting. Is it easy or will it take me years?
