I’m looking for a bit of advice on where to start looking at what’s causing this problem.

I’m working on a terrain editor that has been working quite well for a long time now, but has recently started crashing, always at the same point in the code where I load the actual terrain files. I know there's nothing wrong with the code as it loads in the first few areas with no problem, it will only crash after loading several additional area's. it always crashes on the Load Object command.

I know there's nothing wrong with the objects as I can load and edit ones that have crashed previously. It’s not always the same area causing the problem.

Here's where it gets a bit funny, if I compile in Debug Mode it works perfectly! No crashes. Also as a test I copied a normal compiled version to the wife’s laptop and again that works perfectly.

To me it sounds like there's something wrong with my PC, but what I don’t get is why the Debug version works.

I tried reinstalling Dark basic and going back to an early 7.5 beta I know that it worked on, that hasn’t helped. I’ve updated my gfx drivers and again no luck...

Sorry for rambling on a bit, but im at a loss now as to where to start looking. Any suggestions are gratefully received.

I think the most current bug-free version is 7.4

The fastest code is the code never written.

Hiya,
No joy... After re-installing and patching to 7.4 I had to re-create the project file and copy all the code across manually as I couldnt even to get it to complie! The only difference is now its a silent crash instead of 'DarkBASIC Pro Project has stopped working' error.

Any other suggestions?
