This is a basic tile editor that I made for development of a 2D side scroller game. (although this utility could also be used to exit top down RPG style maps)

Its still version 1.00 and I have only tested it on a couple of computers. Please give it a try and let me know what you think. Be sure and take a look through the readme file or else you will be really confused.

When I start the editor I can't see the letters as they are off the screen to the left so I took a guess and typed "n" for New level... then it crashed.

"Image does not exist at line 54"

I assume you forgot to compile the exe with media?

Crashes for me on initialization with the error:

"Display using 32 bit is not supported by available hardware at line 8"

Most likely because I'm trying to run it on my laptop which doesn't support the resolution in fullscreen.
