i was wondering if the new version (1.17) was stable before i install it? the only reason i ask is because i don't see much chatter about it. i figured with ragdoll and a new particle engine and new A.I the forum would blow up with remarks.

should i stay with V 1.16 or should i upgrade?

upgrade, all the chatter about it is in the migration discussion thread at the top highlighted in green.

I'd have to say........ The Game Creators can make dreams come true.

1.16 is horrible, definately switch to 1.17,the preformance is epic, the new features are just amazing. And I am not overreacting.

May I suggest you read through the migration thread.

There are a lot of good tips and problems solving in there.

At the top of the scripts thred there is an darkAI section with info for Dark AI.

Lipsync has been covered and solutions given to complete.

Ragdoll has been descussed and refined. You will have to get one of the old betas to get the script file.

In my opinion the engine has given me the least problems when building a game. I have had level map up to 1.56gigs with stock and custom media in them. It even built multi levels game with two decent size levels without the issues I was having in 1.16

Download it a give it a try, You can always go back to 1.16 if you have issues.

Install the 1.17. Run the DBO and Bin cleaner. and run the Dumpmem utility.

In the setup.ini file there are some new flags that control the shaders and stuff.

Read the setupdescription.txt for meaning of the settings.

Bloom will be on by default.

thanks pirate myke. i figured out how to get bloom off. i'm searching through other threads now for more info. everything is chopped up into different threads. very confusing

i noticed that there are no new buttons so i guess all updates are done as scripts.

as always (as if i have to ask )if anyone has any good tips or tutorials on how to use the new features please post them for slowmo's like me

Your Welcome.

everyone is still finding out about the new features. Probably will be tutorials out soon. Still lots of info in thread.

Type this in the search phrase for entire forum.

v1.17 or v1:17 or v117

Most of the stuff will be accessable from there.
