Wow, see that, I've been so busy with this thing, I totally missed that. Well it appears that There are some changes that will need to be made in the use of textures, and maps to adopt to the new updates. Bummer! More to learn.

Quote: "But is there a way to set the teleporter activation thingy so that the player is frozen when they're using it instead of moving around whenever they change their selection?"

You can set different keys up in the script. The key assignment chart is in your FPSC Manual.

Oh ok, I thought there might have been a command or something to disable being able to move with the arrow keys during the script.

Thanks

I suppose that this is where I'm supposed to put some witty one liner. Well...sorry to disappoint.

Looks amazing! Downloading now! All the stuff seems great! Thanks for eveeryone who donated. Maby I'll even find osme beautiful HUDs inside some of the files, like in the Pirate Pack... Yeah, my crappy humor, bear with it. But downloading now... seems like this will take some time.

Hi guys. I'm testing the media in v.117.9

Everything is working as it should, but I did come across a few shader issues.

If you are using v.117 you will need to change the shader to use the "bump.fx" shader in the "ps_2_0" folder, inside the effectbank. This works well with the exsisting textures and maps.

These Items are the ones you'll need to edit.

The "Lightwall".

The "Fence".

and the "Heavy Platform".

Now on to the Doors.

Brilliant work here CP and co.!

PS I do not have a ps 3_0 compatible graphics card, so how can I get the segments to work without Bond1's segment shader?

Those are a set of alternate textures for my original Sci-Fi Mega Pack collection. For those who wanted to "grunge up" some of the entities.

If your using v,117 use one of the segment shaders in the "ps_2_0" folder, inside the effectbank.

If not, use the stock "bump.fx" shader on the segments.

The entities work but when i add them to the room they are white, the only entity that works is the characters. the siting version of the alien just stands up like the first one lol
thanks in advance if anyone can help me, ive looked at the posts but i might of missed someone with the same error

It sounds like you need to re-install the textures from the texturebank.zip file. The character textures are in the entitybank so they will show up, nearly all the remaining, required, textures go in the texturebank.

My husband is having some difficulties. Since his last stroke he's not been able to use his cognitive abilities very well and is having trouble sorting this out.

He very much wants to use the airlock door but the following image is what he gets.

He is using official version of FPSC 117. He has re-downloaded everything and put them in their respective folders. He has mentioned something about Bond1 being copied to folders. He has downloaded something from Cosmic Prophet regarding v117.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

OK, My first thought is that the segment .fps is looking for the airlock door entity, and cant find it. Unzip the 1.117 fix.zip to your desktop, and install the new files. That will fix the textures and shaders for v.117. I can see you've done that, by the way the frame looks.

The .fps file looks for the door entity here: entitybank\scificom\Doors\airlock_door.fpe

Make sure this file exsists in this location.

If you need help to reinstall, check the first post for the installation instructions.

Reinstall, then install the fix.

If you still have problems drop me an e-mail. And we'll get you fixed up.

OK, I want to use the "heavy platform" in one of my levels and have version 117 installed. It says above that to use the "heavy platform" I have to use the bump.fx shader from the ps_2_0 folder. But to be honest, I haven't got the first clue how to do this!! I know where the folder is, I can see the bump.fx file in the folder, but how do I change it to use this shader? Can someone help a noobie out please!

I game therefore I am.

Looks like it's using the normal map texture - check you're using the texture ending in _D2 for your model in it's texture properties...

If not, it may be the shader...

I'm still having problems trying to get the 'heavy platform' to work. When I try to put it into my level, all I see is a tiny dot. I had a similar problem somewhere else and was told it was because a mesh was missing or in the wrong folder. I'm not sure if the same applies to the heavy platform problem I'm having. If it is, where is the mesh for it? Please can someone help me with this

I game therefore I am.

1st port of call brucie baby is to open the .fpe/.fps for anything that gives you that and read the line(s) stating the mesh and it's location (the .x thing). That will tell you where to look for it and the meshes name. Then go mesh hunting

If it just has the meshname and no folder structure, then it is looking for the mesh in the same folder as the .fpe/.fps file is located.

Here you can see the mesh location and the name of the mesh in this stock WW2 entity.

maybe, but earlier something tried to intrude my computer twice. plus i got a weird popup that looked like chrom, but ive heard of popups that try to like like your browser so when you press the "X" button, it installs a virus. my friend got one of these and it wiped his entire hard drive clean, including windows. plus, it made its way into his backup hard drive! luckily he had backed up online before this had happened. Cosmic, love the models and all, but you really should consider different means of distribution. maybe start posting them ON the thread, or get an account of the TGC Store. Hey! That's an idea! im sure TGC would say yes to this even before you ask them! please do something...
