umm there is no way to do sliding polygonal collisin with DBP's built in commands.

you have to use a DLL.

You mean you can't do sliding with sphere-to-poly or cube-to-poly collision?

I thought that was possible.

Ben

stop.
forgetabout using polygon-polygon sliding collsision.
unless you have rich's pc you're only gonna be able to do about polygon-polygon collision routine per second. Its very slow.
And there is no quick way to do it in DB

So us the command interscet object for perfect collision, as it wil give you the exact ditance between the player and the wall
Im pretty sure kenuspens collision engine uses this method.
Go to the code Snippets forum and look for collision.

ps i think Benjamin misunderstood your post and thought you
were using geometric collision, as the object you were colliding
were a sphere and a cube.

nope. if it were, people wouldn't be writing DLLs to do it

you can check for collision. and it's very fast and accurate. however it gives you no way to move the objects if they do collide. GET OBJECT COLLISION X/Y/Z() are disabled in anything but unrotated box collisions.

if someone HAS figured out how to do sliding collision with INTERSECT OBJECT() -- well then that's awesome but i doubt' it'd be very fast.. well it'd be fast with a few object and a not-so-complex environmet. but crank up the players/objects and make the environment complex, and there goes the FPS...
