I started texturing a chest I modelled the other day, which I want to submit for the Prop Room contest. I'm using my Bambo tablet to texture with.

What do you think of this so far?

Looks nice, I have a bamboo as well

I would have a look at the grain in the wood texture and make sure if goes in the right direction, it appears to me as if the grain is running in the wrong direction.

Also the metal reinforcements wear should be at the edges and not in the middle as you show it here.

Notice how the edges of the metal are catching the light and are the most worn

I realised the wood grain was the wrong way when I finished making all the lines by hand XD. I'll redo it and make sure its the correct way. I've also just fixed the metal, to be more shiny at the edges and darker in the middle.

The metal bands could be quite a bit thinner.

The metal bands on this one are only maybe 3/8"-1/2" thick.

As well they metal, doesn't quite look like metal, more like rock at the moment. It needs to have less noise/contrast to it, but adding a specular map (appropriately shaded) will really help sell it as metal.
