I have just built DP materials into my project and are assigning all objects in the scene a phy material based on its material, I am getting the "bounce" I would expect... I have an object that is dropping onto the ground...

The object material is configured with it is set as a dynamic box..
restitution = 0.2
staticfristion = 0.4
dynamicfriction = 0.4
Mass = 5.0

the ground is set to a static mesh (terrain would not work)...
restitution = 0.1
staticfristion = 0.4
dynamicfriction = 0.4

But the object hits the ground and bounces higher than the height it was dropped from, I know I am missing some other settings but I don't know what... gravity is default setting..

I finally found the issue, the problem was that the object was hitting the controller not the ground and the controller did not have a material assigned...
