I'm new to dbp and currently trying out the sample codes that comes with it. Most of the demo program yields the error
"Could not understand command"
and is pointing always at the line with the command "Message"
such as:

Message "2DGC Error Message", "Cannot load map file"

surprisingly, the command 'Message' is not highlighted as a known keyword.

Can anyone guide me as to why it doesn't recognize the 'Message' command? Currently I have DBP 1.066 installed with eXtends and 2DKit plugin. Kindly guide me which plugin I might need to buy and install in order to make the command work.

Thanks in advance.

You might want to try updating DBPro, 1.075 ( or v7.5 as the update is called) is the current one.

The command message comes from the BlueGUI plug in, (or at least the one in my installation does)

I expect a similar one exists in BBBGui (Which is similar but free) as well, altho I haven't used that plug in.

I tried to search for the page where I could buy the BlueGUI plugin but I can't seem to find it.

First, I found an old newsletter that briefly explains what BlueGUI does and got me really interested (http://www.thegamecreators.com/pages/newsletters/newsletter_issue_22.html).

But when I click the link (http://www.thegamecreators.com/?m=view_product&id=2000) I'm sent to DBPro's usual ads with no mention of BlueGUI. Does it mean BlueGUI has been phased out?
If so, guess I'll settle for the free BBBGui then, even if it might mean I'm not going to get any support for the use of it. =(

I checked the license of BBBGui and unfortunately, it is not fit for my current project because of this line:

Quote: "
3) The LICENSEE agrees to credit the use of the BBB GUI Plugin in any program information, including splash screens, "About" dialogs, program notes or instructions and shrink-wrapped packaging.
"

So i really hope I can buy that BlueGUI if it is still supported and available.

@ Mad Nightmare
Unfortunately, yes, it is a big deal for some company. You will probably know if you are in the management or executive level. That is the reason why from the start, I already bugged the 'Contact Us' of TGC a couple of time before I started buying their products because I wouldn't want to be in a bad position ones license is already the topic. ^_^

omg omg OMG!!!

this is so off-topic but please bear with me coz i'm so happy!

3 of my business associates, which are also my closest friends, just gave me AspireĀ® Predator G7750, a 3200USD+ worth of gaming gear!!!

see spec here:
http://bit.ly/cIOIsL

They gave me that coz I expressed my interest in creating games.
Although they don't really think that we'll be serious on gaming direction since our primary business is far from that field, nevertheless, they expressed their interest on my little hobby with a really serious surprise, a gift that they said might help me with my endeavor ^____^

THANKS SIRS IMB, FAMB AND MPL FOR THIS SUPER GREAT GIFT!

Now I'm really excited to create my first game ^______^ this beast will surely help me in achieving it ^___^ ahhh I feel so pampered!

Btw, check my blog to see who they are:
http://www.yaten.me/BLOG/54.html
They are my L4D playmates as well ^__^

[EDIT]
and thanks sir moderator for lifting my account from probationary status ^__^ i just noticed it now after posting this message ^___^
TGC ROX!!!!

That's cool! Now you can't make up excuses why you're not programming the next greatest game.
