can somebody tell me is there any way to render particles on top of sprites or images in 2d game. And how...

I've tried and the particle system is integrated with 3D graphics. For 2D Graphics, I just used a bunch of sprites, and they were really small, you can have a ton of them on screen at once.

ok, thanks for the answer.
Then, I suppose that darkGDK renders 2d images and sprites with DirectDraw. Is that correct?

I am also interested to know is there any way to render image through pixel shader with darkGDK.

btw. my english is not perfect, I hope that I explained everything correctly...
