Hey, I am new to this and I was wondering how people get there games to look so good. The great members of this community all told me that it has to do with Specular Mapping of entities and textures and Shaders.

What programs can I use to change the specular mapping of my game to make it as realistic and awesome as possible? I was looking at DarkShader, but that cost a lot of money. Also, how to I make it so my guy has a little glow? That way, you can see the gun my guy is holding so if you could help that would be great!
Cheers,
-Dave

Uh, Bond1 made a shader that is a itemflash like in resident evil, naybe it will be useful, but is better for pikcups-items

I'm not sure how to do a specular mapping, but if it helps you, you can make normal maps with GIMP, but you hvae to download the normal map plugins

-Why didn't God take gaga, justin bieber or kesha instead of Randy Rhoads, Cliff Burton or Dio?
