I don't think Android will beat iPhone in the near future, personally. This argument is futile though because people will always disagree.
As KISTech mentioned Apple are far too restrictive. They have already been forced to lift some of them due to the negative response they were getting.
They messed up OS4, its quite buggy at the moment (maybe not as buggy as Android?) but the bugs are critical on old iPhones. The new iPhone death grip is unexpected; apple have made a huge design flaw which, for a company that prides itself on its design capabilities is hugely embarrassing.
The above issues will push plenty of people to android but there are still many reasons why not enough will leave.
However
Multitasking on android sucks battery life because the OS doesn't control what applications do enough (if at all?). Apple's OS4 entirely restricts what applications can do to the extent that I don't notice any difference in performance but still feel like everything is running in sync.
The app store is still much better on iPhones with more choice and high quality apps. I don't know about android but the Apple app store is a gold mine.
The fact that Android has more free apps is irrelevant, its probably because theres not as much money to be made.
So in conclusion, Apple is too restrictive and messed up this time around but Android is improving. Apple know they messed up, so I expect a huge boost above the competition soon enough.
Quote: "Best bet is to develop the same app in both stores. Oh wait, Apple's restrictive developer license wont let you do that. "
Really? Doodle jump is on Android and iPhone
