yes, but is always cool to estimate it
let's take my low-end computer for an example
pentium 4 3.20ghz
ram memory 2gb 800mhz
geforce 8500gt 512mb shader 3.0 128bits
''default'' motherboard
hd ''default''
guys...it's all running at 10 fps in a considerable heavy and well optimized map with all shaders, a lot of enemies, and neutrals under effect of heavy scripting, using the particle sys to create a cloud effect in the skies,a final product map.
let's use this map as our benchmark, cuz it's heavy and let a 8500gt on it's knees.
let's first change the pentium 4, he could be limitating the 3d card, maybe a simple dual core can handle it.
i used a pentium dual core e6300 2.8ghz, and the fps increassed in 10 fps, 20...hum...not good enough, but my cousin had a 9500gt and he gave it to me, so i didn't had to test with my 9600gt.
the results were good, i got 55 fps here, very good.
remenber that the software minimun requiriments are ''NEVER AT ALL'' recomended. will lag every second, and i say that by my own experience.
but i think if you turn off the bloom and the particles effect, a 8600gt shoud be good enough.
mods for creating a inteligent game,at least
