This is one of the two answers posted in the DLL forum. The other explained that even if the DLL didn't appear in the manager they would still work.

After trading 4 or 5 e-mails with TGC Support and still not getting an answer to my original posted question, I am left in the same place I was when I made the first post.

I will say that all the answers TGC Support came up with did not include either of the replies to my original post in the DLL Forum (11 August '10).

The answer you got from Diggsey was correct, that option is for editor plugins.

I'm running Windows 7 x64 right here and it all works fine, so that's not the issue.

You need to make sure your DBP is installed correctly (ie installed not copied to make sure the registry entry is there), the compiler is in the compiler folder, with plugins in the relevant subfolders, and that you have no security issues within Windows. In other words, make sure you are running under administrator privileges.

If you have admin privileges and have installed correctly, then you need to try reinstalling under admin privileges.

Thank you for your answer to my post.

Since I am the only user of my system I run exclusive with admin privileges. I did a fresh install of DBP and followed with a fresh install of upgrade 7.5, so all should be well in that direction.

I guess what I need is a tutorial on how to use plugins.

For the free plugins.

The DLL files go in the DBPro\Compiler\plugins-user folder

If there are any INI files, they go in the DBPro\Editor\Keywords folder

If the help files for the DLL are setup to work with the DBPro Help System, then they go in the DBPro\Help folder. If they are in their own folder, copy the whole folder there.

Ideally a TPC DLL should be packaged so you can just unzip it to the DBPro folder, and everything goes where it's supposed to, but many are not like that.
