its definately an improvement over classic.
When I started classic I was not aware of its shortcommings.
I created stuff like i was in an ever expanding universe only to find my head whacking the ceiling in many regards with classic.
Classic is still a great product but its development cycle has come to end with its updates.
You can still update to some extent with addition expansion and so forth. This is part and parcel in DBP.
Pro has allowed me to revisit a lot of old snippets and ideas i had when i found classic, Funny thing is they are now more possible without so many workarounds.
I could never go back to classic after spending a few years dabbling with it.
Its still good but does have more limitations, yet it can appear to be more robust at this point in time while pro goes through a few buggy areas, its no reason to dismiss it.
I could of never expanded my game without pro.
Pro has a lot more features that make life easier, but.. theres more options and potential so it may at first seem a bit daunting.
Pro is a lot better for a project lifecycle because as machiens get faster and things shape up it will be definately usable for larger scale projects.
While your not right at the start of pros development, I feel this point in time is a lot better to get used to it.
Lots of previous patches and updates were the birthing of the language so its bound to have its quirks and bugs as things shape up.
The best thing you can do is take a look around whos using it with regards to their projects and websites.
the code snippets board and codelists are an indication of its potential as well as saving you a tonne of manhours to see how things go together.
