What I really want to play with is 3D scanning tech for models and textures

Obviously Nextgen is awesome but too much money. I recently tried a program which uses a web cam and a printed square sheet.
Ic3D or something along that lines. It didn't work very well with my setup though. I can only think my light source was inadequate or the cam itself, as my bro managed better results on his machine(and it's only a mac mini with multiple os installed). Not sure if video performance on one of those is better than a Geforce 7900 GT. Could be, I have a 9 card but have problems with it, so use the 7 one for now
