If anyone remembers the old Dark Basic (not pro) site had a list of 'Top Sites' on the left hand side of the page. It linked to sites like DarkBasicPlanet.com and DarkBasic.net among some other decent sites. I recall clicking one of the linkse and finding a site that was quite useful that I never bothered to bookmark because it was on that list (silly me).

So if anyone remembers any of the sites that were on the list then could you please post them here. Thanks.

Nah, don't have that. Interestingly though, my badly maintained website (hasn't been updated since august 2001, pretty much just before the company I worked for got took over and work became hell) has a list of websites copied from DB website in january 2001 if I remember rightly. Funny to see how many are still around (not many).

Remember Cemetery Cat? Or DarkForge?

Man, I've got to update my website....

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

Ahh, I'll have to go through that list and see if it's there thanks.

If I remember correctly DarkForge was Rich's site and when he started working for TGC (DBS back then) he slowly stopped updating and maintaining it until it disappeared completely.

Try archive.org - They archive millions of websites every day so you can go back in time and look at websites at any point in time:

You can look at darkbasic.com at any time since 1999

Hooray, there they are. Thanks a lot.

I must wonder though, what does Archive.org have to gain by doing all that?

not much, its a none-profit ogranization, it's like asking what libraries gain, or what disease research teams gain, or a better example, what does dmoz gain?

but WE all gain on being able to see msn from like 1996, very, very poor, lol. it's a good laugh, you'll have to check it out.

Most of those are government funded however or recieve many donations, I highly doubt Archive.org are getting the same benefits.

I ought to renew the domain name really! Had forgotten about that. I have put nearly all my DarkForge code onto the CodeBase here anyway, so no-one looses out. Infact my CodeBase contains bits that I never released back then. I will keep adding to it and eventually point the darkforge.co.uk domain name to my codebase list page

Cheers,

Rich
