I have recently upgraded dbpro to 7.5, I am using windows 7 and the new IDE seems to have embedded itself onto the taskbar even though I have specifically set the option for it not to do so. Its basically acting like malware which I don't like at all, If I want to use codesurge through the taskbar then I should be able to. Does anyone have any solutions?

I would prefer just to remove the editor because even though it sounds silly I find software that modifies my computer without my permission without an obvious way to fix it offensive. What's even worse is it doesnt even open the file I opened it just creates a new project, it is infuriating.

edit: found the solution, have to remove all the pinned and recent files open on the editor, goto file associations in the windows 7 programs options, set dba and dbpro file associations to wordpad then to back to codesurge. Seems to have worked

I think you only need to right click the icon you dont want and delete it, no more icon on the task bar.

Nah that wasn't the problem, I had codesurge on my taskbar, if you right click on it it shows a list of pinned files and recent files which i use to open my project quickly, after upgrading to 7.5 the new ide hijacked it and whenever I selected a file from the pinned or recent files list on the codesurge shortcut it would open in the new IDE even though the file association was set to codesurge.
