This isnt a post about, will you join my team, i am just wondering, Dark Basic Pro isnt really known but maybe 1 person i know where i live, and i really love teamwork, it inspires me and keeps me motivated.

I was just wondering, what do people who dont work for a company do for teamwork, how should i find a 'teammate' in my programming, its 2x the people, but 5x the fun and 10x the ease.

How should i go about this.

Introduce your friends to Darkbasic Pro. The friend of mine who told me about Darkbasic (so long ago) didn't think I'd like it... I love it of course. He doesn't program as much as I do but he'll make up a programming challenge for us every once in a while to see what he and I can make individually. When the deadline is reached (usually a week or two) we play each others .exes then compare our code to each other.

One of the things I'm thinking about doing is introducing my high school computer teacher to Darkbasic Pro. My hope is he'll want to start a programming class or at least tell the kids that are interested in programming about Darkbasic Pro.

Let your motivation for other Darkbasic programmers spread the word about it in your part of the world.

I find it hard to get other people interested in programming. The people I interact with on a daily basis are interested in games but not programming
Even my best friend, who does programming for a living, is not interested in programming on the side --even for games. He's a gamer and a programmer, but not a game programmer...??? Go figure. The only people I've had ANY luck with are non-programmers that say the "want to learn", but when it comes down to it, they find it's too hard and don't want to continue. This forum is the first community that I have found to have people that ACTUALLY program game-type applications.

Perhapse the TGC gods will grace us with a collaberation forum for team programming.

The fastest code is the code never written.

Like everyone else said, just show people dark basic, and even if noone is interested in coding there is definitely someone out there who does something computer-related, I have one friend that I thought knew nothing about computers, until I discovered she loved animating...

if your real-life friends fail you, feel free to start a team request here, if it's in the relevant board and you have a lot of the design planned out, you will find people will be willing to help and contribute. I started a thread in Game Design for openfps, and people helped me flesh out the design before I started a thread here. And, one year later, here I am, Openfps has code from over twenty contributors, six of which are currently working on various modules, and I feel pretty confident about the project.
Actually, a few of the people I've met online have turned out to be pretty cool people, it's nice knowing people who share the same interests with you and have just as much, if not more technical knowledge...

Not likely. A few years back there was a Team Requests board, but it was deleted because of the huge number of "dudez help me make my MMORPG" posts, from what I've heard.

heheh, well i asked most my friends that are the computer type and they are all busy with sports and school.
I guess when i finally get a project idea ill come back and ask
