I have problem with shadows in my FPSC 1.17.
I have Windows 7, GeForce 6800, Intel Core 2 [email protected].

Despite i select (in preferences) Lighting Shadows: best for quality and Visuals: full shader effects, i have no shadows in my game.
Do I have to change something in light properties or object that should cast a shadow?

Make sure you also have full shaders turned on and that your lights are static (dynamic lights give no shadows)

You shouldn't need to enable full shader effects for the lightmapper to work.

@tecbug, make sure that you've added at least one static light to your level. It may also be that your ambience value is set too high. The bloom in V1.17 really makes lower ambience values seem brighter During test game, press the < > keys on your keyboard to adjust the ambience values. Try turning the ambience down with the < key, and see if you can start to see shadows.

And don't forget to increase the lightmap quality. 20-40 works well for me.

Nbt, shadows are static.
Kravenwolf, i've tried it by changing ambience values - still no shadows.
Marc Steene, where to change lightmap quality?

Setup.ini, it's in the main FPSC directory.

I use lightmap quality as 100. It looks best, but takes ages to load test game. No framedrop on me.

Check for pure horror.

Ok, I found it. Thanks for help.
setup.ini is for testing and buildsetup.ini is for exporting the game. Is that correct?

I have: ":state=0:ambience=2", but player can still change ambience with < and >. This can spoil every horror game.

hmm

Wolf's games for example don't have an option of that happening.

I'll have to run some tests.

Use a script in a trigger zone to set ambience for each level, set it to 'always'. Should be an example somewhere on the script board.
