I', having some trouble sneaking past guards, I want to make a game with some aspects of Deus Ex, where you can choose how to play the game, of course, it wouldn't be as deep as Deus Ex.

works, but not exactly what I'm looking for, I'm thinking more along the lines of my enemies having a limited field of view, and I can sneak past them using crates and other objects obstructing their FOV, Metal Gear Solid is a great example of what I'm trying to explain.

have you tried adjusting the view cone in the parameters and the plrdistwithin in the scripts?

Edit: make sure you make a copy of your scripts before modifying them.

I've never messed with scripting but it's time I start. I've seen "view cone angle" the scripting from what I've seen seems easy enough, what language is it?

actually, view cone angle can be adjusted in the editor. simply make it smaller for a lower field of enemy view. I'm currently working on a stealth side project, and it's got FOV set to 35.

Im glad my scripts worked with you , BREED , and I think what you want is easy to do .
Why don't you place the zones behind the crates you want to sneak behind them , add a waypoint to the enemy so he looks forward in times and back in other times , once he is not looking at the player side you move quickly behind the crates , and when he looks at the crates again he won't detect the player , also if you get out , he will see you , fair simple . And for the FOV , I guess Bugsy answered it fairly obvious .
Cheers

thats what I ended up doing. Until I decide to start scripting myself, I'll just keep using work around's. but your scripts where a tremendous help, Mr illusionest
