I've posed this question before but got no answer. Is there a bug w/ the IDE because DBPro always generates the DarkBasic logo as the exe's icon even I've added my own icon file to the icons panel. Does anybody know?

Open the .dbpro file in notepad and then edit the Icon part with the path of your icon...i think

Or just get a tool called "ico edit" (I think).

Or there is a way of changing it inside the IDE. Use it there.

It's just another bug.
The IDE icon assignment tool DOES NOT WORK under Windows 98SE.
A shame.
It does work somewhat better under Windows XP home.
However it still does not seem to affect the icon in the window title bar.

No wonder...I'm running Win98se...And you're telling me this is not important enough for them to fix?? Sometimes I wish I hadn't bought DBPro. I really feel like I've wasted a hundred bucks!! I'm not trying to be negative, but they provide ZERO tech support. And I thimk their QA, if they have one, has done a lousy job because there are quite a number of obvious bugs that should've been caught before a release. And then I have to pose my question over and over before getting any sort of helpful answer. I know people in this forum are not obligated to give help, but I'm not asking for pieces of code. And the problems that I've been experiencing w/ DBPro are legitimate bugs of the IDE! And no one seems to care.

This is a very small bug - a bug with the IDE not DBpro compiler. I think the support is very good.

TGC didn't create the IDE and aren't responsible for problems with it, they don't even have the source code to fix the bugs so it's no use complaining to them about it.

On the other hand I've found the feedback and support for actual DBP bugs very good and I usually receive a prompt and useful solution to a problem.

There is no forum to report IDE bugs. The guy who designed it, a Guy Savoi I believe, recently disappeared/quit, and not only does TGC not have hte source code, they don't know the language it was made in (Delphi I think).

No worrys though. TGC been talking about a new IDE within the next year or so, and there's several user designed ones in development. I'd pay special attention to the one Beavis is designing. It's got several of whom I consider DBPro code masters (IanM,TheCodingArea) working with him. Just copy and paste the link below.
