One thing I have always had trouble with was properly texturing roads. I can make roads easy, using Animation Master, but it always took me forever to texture them. After reading the help that comes with Ultimate Unwrap, I discovered the answer was the Peel mapping function. It took me a little trial and error, but I think I have it down. If you own Ultimate Unwrap, and you haven't used Peel, you are gonna love it, I promise. If you don't own Ultimate Unwrap, and you see how Peel works, you will want to buy it, and trust me, it is WORTH IT! I think Peel is only available in the Pro version, which I have.
First off, there are some rules. Peel only works with quads, not triangulated polys. So, before you bring your model into UU, make sure it is in a quad format. I model in Animation Master, and export in .obj format. It just makes sense to work with quads anyway. Alot less lines to look at, and easier to map.
Also, the quads should be relatively evenly spaced. If you have variable quad sizes you can break the mapping up into sections.
Peel will take all quad faces from a "marked" edge, and unwrap them into same size faces in a direction you define, until it hits a "seam" and, another "marked" edge, or, an odd shaped polygon.
I have made a 6 minute video of creating a road in A:M and then texturing in UU. Here is the link:

this is easier to see.I lowered my screen res.

I just thought this was a cool feature. Ultimate Unwrap continues to amaze me, very well worth the money, in my opinion.
