I keep getting a message up saying that DBProInputDebug.dll cant be accessed. This all started when I installed v5.1. a quick file search revealed that the file is there, in the plugins folder. where should it be and what else could be wrong?

Is it marked as read-only, or do you have an invalid PATH setup ?

its not read only, and the same problem occurs when I try to upgrade. I'm not sure how to change the path setup. I'm using windows millenium.

You can check path, by opening a MSDOS prompt and typing PATH (and press return). What you need to look for is directories that appear more than once. This makes sure that everything is found in the proper place and, if by any chance there happens to be more than 1 copy of the file, the correct one should be used.

If it cant be access then either its in use by another process (kill as much as possible and try again) or something is locking that file.

That didnt work. Now heres a development for you. It would appear that when I reinstall the version of directx that came with dark basic (8.1, I beleive) everything is fine, though v5 or 5.1 still wont install. However, when I install the new directx, thats when it all goes weird. this leads to one conclusion: Its a directx conflict. or two of course, My computer is crap beyond every sense of the word.

I miss my zx spectrum!!
