I like Hard Rain more... just blasting trought the zombies! Ohh, look at that zombie fly, gibs everywhere AWESOME!

And there is couple of threads of people offering to write a story for you. Search "Will wrote a story for you" and a thread or two should appear, about that subject.

Heavy rain is a very interesting game but the chapter based gameplay changing the players character and having any influence on the consequences of the game is not suited for FPSC.

You could make a FPS which is heavily story driven though with lots of exploration and puzzle elements. You have to be very careful to get the balance right between puzzles and action others people will lose interest.

Lots of people complained that RE4 was too action focused and lost the exploration of previous games in the series. Personally I thought it was a step in the right direction but they could have made it more scary like when you start the game in the forest and come across the log cabin with the cut scene of someone watching you it set a great tone but changed focus during the game. On the other hand Silent Hill freaks me out so much I can't even play it so again theres a balance on there.

Your storyline doesn't matter because you won't finish. Noone finishes their first project...

Just make something to get into level design and character design, or write it yourself. We aren't here to pen up essays for you.

...I could fill you in on one of my treatments...

...but, you'd run with, make a great game and a name for yourself...

...so you see, why I'd have to kill you after I told you.

HA! you're right i've started 15 projects without having one finished
But yea back to topic, so i suggest the best way would be to think of it yourself, for example play games with good story and read books, that'll give you ideas

because it might be that he started using FPSCreator/DBPro in 2007 or 2008 and never wanted to sign up in TGC forums but i dont know

@tant

I am going to be very blunt now:

The story is the main source of inspiration and given we all use the same engine and models, it's the one thing that makes games really different from each other.

If you can't come up with a story on your own you miss a basic prerequisite for being a game developer.

But apart from that, why not giving it a little cheaper?

Think of ONE game situtation you would like to create, play yourself and show us.
Think of a SINGLE level (consisting of only a few rooms) to use for this.

THIS is going to be challenging enough for a start and if you accomplish this, then you're allready above the average newcomer.

Good Luck!

In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^
