Could someone tell me how to do that? I plan on making shaders for some characers. I won't release them but I'll probably make screenshots.

Right now, I want to make a shader for the Cyblob by bond1 (I have purchased FPSCX10 sometime ago.) But I have no luck with the stock bumpbone.fx but I certainly don't wanna use the fastbone.fx. I have looked through the .fx in the stock and made in FXComposer, the text is diffrent.

So, can someone either tell me how to convert the FXcomposer shaders or how to use a stock shader and mess with it in FXcomposer? This would help alot.

I tryed FXcomposer with no luck a couple years ago, unless it has changed by now I dont think you can, I never could get any shader to work with it in fpsc, but mabey other's have,I do know most people use dark shader wich is compatible to fpsc.

my signature keeps being erased by a mod So this is my new signature.

The thing is I don't money to buy DarkBasic Pro or Dark Shader. Anyway, I tried to put a FXComp. shader in FPSC, the character is invisble. I put the "darkshader_template" from Model Pack 22 into FXComposer, the character is INVISBLE!

So my guess... go into the ".fx" file then start editing the file so it is compatible for FPSC.

Every HLSL editing program uses a slightly different format, whether it's FX Composer, ATI's RenderMonkey, 3ds Max, or DBPro.

I recommend giving this a read to understanding the basics of HLSL, it's now free to read online: http://http.developer.nvidia.com/CgTutorial/cg_tutorial_chapter01.html

Or better yet, buy this DVD, it's fantastic, and Ben Cloward is a very nice guy, I've had several discussions with him privately and he's always helpful: https://www.cg-academy.net/es_catalog/product_info.php?products_id=64&osCsid=1aet8ivr2043jkv9c0i6l9t627dp4srp

Dark Basic Pro is free now! Dark Shader is not, but I will say I purchased it when it was released and have only recently found it useful, while trying out stuff in FPS creator. Not great, but that is because I have no clue how to do more than the basics. Still I have a shader effect applied to a model I made from using it which is better than nothing, even if it isn't working as I would like yet. You don't need dark basic to use dark shader if you use fps creator(it does the work for you already), it is only needed for your own DB games . They work in it by just saving out an fx file and using that.
If you have your images/and or model I can try to make a basic shader for you out of them. Easier if I have the actual model to work with as hard to tell from a cube or such on UVW maps.

Nope, it's really free. Only catch is that it's supported by advertisements.

And yes. It's free

Thanks PW. I've verified myself on that so now I'll wait until I buy Dark Shader.

Lol;, if you get to that point, I hardly doubt purchasing the full version would be an issue

I thank everybody for the replys, and I know there are tutorials for if I were to actually search (I have, I found some good tuts as well).

All I ask is if someone were to tell me of to setup an FX Composer .fx to compatible w/ DBPro (Thus, being compatible with FPSC)
