I have nearly finished my jukebox software in DBPro which is working well. However I would like to add music videos also to play on a separate screen via the dual output graphics card I have. My question is can DBPro support multiple screens and also playback MKV files? or is there a DLL that would do the job?

When it comes to MKV and other similar files, like every kind of media file - you need the codec to be installed on the system in order to open and properly decode the file contents. Whether its included with your program, or already on the system.

MKV is just a container format - you can stick literally anything inside an Matroska container. But its open source so anything you need to be able to open one up and then see what is inside should be available on sourceforge or someplace like that

DBP can (should) play anything that media player can play as it uses directshow and activemovie just like media player.

You'll still need to install the Matroska splitter, though.. which doesn't really come default with Windows or anything.

Unless you prefer to go the way of hardcoding the support into your application with a DLL or something that gets installed with it (VLC for instance, while having crappy MKV playback by todays standards, can open MKV files and alot of video formats, without the need for external codecs installed on the system)
