Hi there,my last thread on this was moved due to myself not being more accurate enough in my description so i have decided to re-phrase my question with more information.
I would like to know as the title suggests and if that is true does anyone already have the converted dds files that i could have?
I have decided to move onto editing weapons and cannot seem to edit the textures of any stock weapons as they are dds format,i just need to add a few logos to the weapons using gimp or whatever and dont intend in actually re-texturing the weapon,if im talking a load of slugs then please somebody put me out of my misery and into place as im not familiar with all these different file types, thanks for your time in reading my thread and hope i didn't make anyone want to crowbar me,cheers

DDS Converter 2 works the first time and all the time. One requirement of DDS files happens to be the size ratio between width and height but all of the DDS files in FPSC are that correct ratio. Also DDS Converter 2 does have an issue with Windows 7. However, it can be overcome.

lotgd has a link to it. I suggest to download it.

I know there's apps that already do this but I decided to make an app anyway

I've made a small application that converts '.dds' files to '.png', '.jpg' and '.bmp' files.
It can convert entire folders of files one after the other as well.

Here's the link:

Paint.NET has native .DDS support, it's pretty much as powerful as Photoshop and you can edit the .DDS files directly and save them in .DDS/.TGA/.PNG/.JPG/.GIF, Ect.

Your signature has been erased by a mod because it's almost 1MB in size

Thanks knxrb. I downloaded it. I was thinking about doing this myself but no need now.

How about converting from PNG or JPG, or BMP to DDS?
