That makes no sense actually. Renaming the extension almost never works, especially for a DDS file. You might think it's a DDS, but you could be opening it as a BMP

It still won't make the program write the image in the DDS format just because you change the extension to '.dds'.
The image is essentially a BMP image format with the extension '.dds'.

Changing the extension does not change the format it is still a BMP image.

i have 2 tips for you if you want to take FPSC seriously.

1) read tutorials.
2) try to listen to other members on this forum for advice

Start with these 2 things and you will see how your skills will improve.
