Well, it seems that everyone around here has had big problems with BSP anyway, but I am planning to get started.

Since I have used Hammer (and Worldcraft) before, the part with leaks and such is not new to me. What is, however, is the mindset required to put Hammer into use with DBP...

I have made a few attempts, but I have never ever managed to load one of my own BSPs.

So, please, anyone that has used Hammer for DBP, describe the fundamental procedure.

(I.e., what conversions/distillations are required; where do I place the textures; do I place the textures in a WAD or not; do I put the map in a PAK file etc.)

I would very much appreciate a reply, since it would save me hours of experimentation...

yes, read the ultimate bsp thread. all your questions should be answered there. if you have any problems after that just post a new question in this thread and we will help.

Agreed, most issues with BSP have been resolved after great deliberation but at least it's getting there
