DarkBASIC Professional Discussion / error "cannot create.exe"

I cannot figure this error out!! I am totally new to programming and need help plz!! I have vista and i made sure to download the .dll file and still its not working. I know that i only have the one file open when i try to execute the code but still i keep recieving this error. any help???

Have you followed the instructions on this thread:

If you have, another possibility is that your Anti-Virus software or security settings are causing the problem. There are many threads on this issue. Try using the search feature to see if you can find a related thread. Another place to look is the Bug Reports board. For example, here's a thread which might help:

If you're still stuck I'm sure someone else will Help you with more specific help. (It's late here and I'll only get something wrong if I try to give you specific advice now. )

Neither of those worked but thanks anyways. This is what the error code says exactly:

Could not create "C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\Dark Basic Professional\Temp\dbp_program.exe"

Are you sure you followed the directions for your OS correctly?

Basically, the problem is that the 'Program Files' directory became protected in Vista and later OS's. For the old IDE, you can overcome this by running it as administrator. The new editor doesn't have this problem.

Or you can overcome all problems by installing DBPro somewhere outside of 'Program Files' and into another directory - I use this method as I synchronise my development environments between different machines and everything in that directory is stuff that needs synchronisation.

Or you can simply alter permissions on the installation directory to allow all access for the current user.
