Hello everybody,
i have a strange problem with DBP :
if i open a project and choose "compile & run", everything is fine and the app is running without any problem.
But if i choose "compile" and then launch the .exe from the explorer, i get an appcrash.
However, if i choose "compile" and then "execute last build" from the ide, it works...
Do you know why ?

Here is the error statement :

That is strange. At first sight I thought it must be a DirectX version error because you should be using d3dx9_31.dll not d3dx9_25.dll (you need the October 2006 or later version). But that doesn't explain why one works and the other fails.

Perhaps someone else can explain it? Are you running the exe on the same machine?

Edit Here's the Google translation for those who can use it:

Yes, i'm running the .exe on the same machine.
When i choose "compile & run", the .exe is built in the same folder from which i directly launch it.

I'm under Windows 7.
The only thing is that the built .exe is not located on the OS drive.

That might be your problem. Does the exe run if you put it (plus necessary media) on the same drive as all the DirectX stuff?

Have you checked the thread on Windows 7 Compatibility?

Windows 7 and TGC Product issues.

I think it could be because of the fact that DBP compile always in debug mode...
I think that when compiled in debug mode, the project send informations back to the ide. But if i don't launch it from the editor, this "link" doesn't exist.

I didn't understand that at all.

As I said before:

Yes, mclout99 seems to have the same problem but with DB Classic. zzz suggested to copy the d3drm.dll in the app folder, but i don't have this dll in my system32 folder.
I have the latest version of directx9 installed, and the game is running fine when launched from the editor, i dont't see why it could be a windows 7 problem.

And installing August 2007 version of directx didn't work.

For the previous post, what i mean is that in a certain way, the editor and the program launched from the editor are connected because if the program crash (with a normal crash error like "the image doesn't exist at line xxx") the crash informations are displayed in the editor. Maybe i'm wrong and it's just a simple code that is returned when the app close

Did somebody get the same bug and managed to fix it ?

EDIT : fixed by using the new IDE. The mistake was mine.
