I have spent many long hours searching for a hero model for
my alien compo entry(ive even tried making one, im almost onto making the nose).
i went to planetquke and downloaded some of
the models. none of them worked!!!!!!! they either crased on loading or didn't have any animation
Then I tried converting them.
3dwin 3dOC ccrashed on opening, quick3d crashed when it tried to export and Deep exploration says i have to spent $200 on
the full version.(I also tried some others but those are the main ones)
So please someone with a modeller or Deep Exp that can convert md2
files to x files please email me with it.
Im even willing to paypal you £10 for 6/7 minutes of your time
so please can you convert this model and email it 2 me:

The version of Deep Exploration I have will convert this model to X format ok, but none of the animation data remains (despite telling it to include it).

I also notice that frames 260+ of the animation are dead as if the file has corrupted somehow. I get a 3D object error on loading into gameSpace, Milkshape can't load the animation data either and Deep Exploration gives a large warning.

Cheers,

Rich

rich, yes the download was corrupt, and thanx.
Could someone please try converiting it again with d3d?
and milshape doenst seem to be able to use the animation either
(i tried with an uncorrupted model).
Lithunwrap can only export 1 frame.

thanx

that is most of the work done, i'm not gonna actually make the importer myself - i'll leave that to you as a learning experience.
i can also post the C code for this as well if you think it'll help but i doubt it

err... raven that theres the documentation for an ascii md2 file
unfortunatly, tris is binary. when you open u is notepad you get
alot of wierd symbols, and not alot of sense.
(that is perhaps why it causes so much trouble.

someone is going to make use of what i posted right?
would hate to actually have to show you guys exactly what to do, be kind of a waste considering its simple to achieve using the information i've given.

i suppose i should also post the PAL format, but i figure you guys can just use your own pallet for now won't make any real odds for the moment.

eek - did you upload a new version of the model? I don't want to waste time converting it again if you didn't.

Cheers,

Rich
