Yups me too, I have used your tune as my default ever since I got it Only reason it was never heard before, was cause I only just fixed why fraps hated my sound card lol

Also Nicky there is a little homage to you in the pack:

This is a very good pack.

I think by integrating with office pack we can make a very good level.

And the next one is MP 50 and there should be a surprise with it.

I think for the next pack all of the pack designers like EAI and Bond 1 should work together to make the best one.

Have our guns was a mistake!!!

To be honest I didn't like any of the Modern Packs realeased in the last 12 months - with the exception of the London Pack.

But this one is exactly like all MPs should be: complete!

It has walls, floors ceilings(with light sources) AND several doors, openable windows, an operating lift (this modern one was soooo long overdue), a stair segment with RAILINGS- and everything fits together perfectly.

The makeshift weapons are just the sugar on top

@Nbt I still remember, how exited I was when you released the free sewer segments/entities - these allready where of terrific quality. I am very glad you stuck to modelling until you made it to an official contributor for FPSC.

I have no idea right now for what project to use this pack but I got to have it.

Good work, mate!

Hey Nbt, another great pack. I am going to retain and use the other office model pack since it is already designed. This is level 1 or quest 1. However, I know that I will need another office or two or three and this is the one I will be using!

Now I know why we haven't seen you around the forum as much you were finishing this baby up.

I reject your reality and substitute my own!

No, just the hands. The weapons and the base the player rips them off are mine.

I did not want to make yet another set of hands (poopy ones at that if I made them) that would not go with the hands already on existing weapons. So I thought it best to use the most commonly used hands and IMHO the best hands. As after all everyone seems to then rig them to EAI's excellent hands

NBT, I am going to buy this pack, the video makes it seem like a lot, I would love to see what there actually is. Can you possibly include the .FPM of that map so I can run around and see everything at once? or could you send it to my email? thanks a bunch! great job!

Bought the pack and I have to say its beautiful. So much stuff to play around with. Love the animations on everything, really gives that dynamic stand point.

My only crit, would be the broken up walls, you can't shoot through the holes, which could be annoying if there was an enemy behind it.

@Nbt - I just want to make sure; You got EAI's permission before including the weapons in this pack right? It just seams awful strange that he would allow you to use them since theses are for sale.

@teamhalo: Do you really think I would just go release another persons hard work without permission ?? Also I just used the hands, the weapons are not made by EAI and I'm sure he would be rather insulted that anyone would think they were made by him lol

So yes I have his permission and you can bet Jake would be the 1st to come slap me if I did not

I was just checking, I was almost 100% sure he did I just had to ask. Call it looking out for a fellow artist.

Wow I am astonished that he approved, either his distribution license has gone soft or his old hand models are not something he cares to much for anymore. Congrats to you. Wow though, I'm going to have to inquire EAI I'd love to whip up some melee weapons

Dont forget that this is not about EAI "lending a hand" (so to speak) for a free fan release but most likely some kind of bussines agreement.

Which is not of any concern to us and personally I'd think it impolite to further inquire about any details.

The Storyteller 01 is correct. Usage has been licensed for this pack. There is a business arrangement; the details of which are between Nbt and myself.

Very nice pack nbt. I'll defintily be getting this pack. I also love how all the stuff is animated like the blinds and the windows. It helps with realism and will definitly enhance peoples games. Also very nice details on the segments. What texture sizes did you use on like the 2nd picture's,the one with the elevator door, walls? 1024 or 2048? Just curious...

Thanks,

The largest texture resolution in the pack is 2048W x 1024H which is the lobby (reception) desk everything else is 1024x1024 or smaller.

Hey nbt, did you ever think about making the segments and entites be optimized for optional shader usage?

Well shaders work on your textures, so there is no such thing as optimized entities/segments as such. Just a matter of you creating _N, _S, _I whatever textures your shader of choice uses from the _D2 really.

To be honest though without a real Normal map created via AO it's pretty pointless in my personal opinion, plus most the FPSC shaders I have seen make everything look shiny/wet and by no means enhances the look (once again in my personal opinion).

bond1 made some pretty cool shaders, but making a model pack that then requires someone elses shaders to function as intended is not right in my books, sorry. Plus I'm not really sure running everything through mudbox to generate AO maps is worth the time for a $15 model pack, but that's just me

Just brought the pack and I love it, how do I get the lift working?

And the demo scared me alot for some reason. First the music, the doors sqeaking and when I went into the dark room. I'm sorry I had to turn it off there. I'm a wuss when it comes to dark places in games so well done for scarying me , was there actually any scary bits or was it just me?

If you study the included map file you will see how the lifts work. Jut follow the same naming scheme of each lift marker, switch, floor select, doors etc and attach their corresponding scripts as per the map. The lifts are a cheat and do not actually move, as you will see and just play a lift sound, shake the camera a bit and then teleport the player at the end to the selected floor.

Oh and no there is nothing scary in the demo, it just shows the grungy versions of the rooms, entities etc.

Nbt - Before I buy this wonderful pack could you answer a question for me -

Regarding the Lift does it transport the player to another level or to another part of the same level?

If so can it work both ways and transport the player up and down a building (levels) -for example 1 to 5 levels and 5 to 1 levels??

Thanks

The lift system can transport you anywhere the player can go. So if you were using a mod that allowed traversing game maps (levels) yes you can travel from level 1 to 3 or level 3 - level 1 and 2 and visa versa etc (just have to edit the lift script). The supplied lift floor select entity only has 3 buttons for floors 1/2/3 so would need a new 5 button one to travel 1-5 levels.
