Im a noob script(person) and from looking at the last challenging thread, i saw one or two people that weren't common to the forums. i learned a good deal from looking at the thread and request that ply, metiorite, gamer x, or hazard to start a new challenge thread.PLZ!

if not ill start a "noobs come together to figure it out thread."



challenge
stealth

1.create a script that when player is with in zone,and holding down c, the enemies vision is limited to 2 squares.
2.if plr fires weapon, entity moves in direction of sound.
3.if plr is so far from the enemy, after being engaged, the entity will give up and follow random waypoints.
4.finally bonus
(i dont know if its possible) silenced weapons are undetected to enemy.

It's not that we don't care and don't know you. it is just that the challenges where done and over with. Many of use just broke off and went into other areas or started to pertain to real life.

For instance:

Ply is off dealing with whatever ply deals with in the real world (occasionally stops by the forums).
I haven't seen a post from meteorite in a long time which makes me believe that reality grab him by the ear and lead him away.
Hazard... well again just like the above.
And it pretty much goes on like that for anyone who participated in those challenges.

Me? I am lurking in the shadows working on 3D media, tutorials, and a few other things for FPSC (even a few scripts but not as many as I use too), and have the dreaded reality to get to as well.

That's life you win some you lose some, but good luck with your radiating, brain melting, super script.

That's the best way to get well known around here. If people know you can do awesome things, they tend to pay more attention to you.

Modding FPSC requires you to have DBP, and it's latest update. The update will come with an extras pack for setting up the compiler to compile the FPSC source code. You can then grab the FPSC engine source code from TGC's google code page (I think).

After that, it's just a matter of opening up the source in DBP, making your changes, compile, and replace the old "FPSC-Game.exe" (in your FPS Creator folder) with your compiled "FPSC-Game.exe"

while im in navy, i should still be able to come on this site, and still do stuff. My rating ( you know this word as "M.O.S." in the army,that tells you what my job is) is AZ, (aviation maintenance administrativman) so im basicly sitting behind a computer all day on a ship getting sea and flight pay! both can get up to $500 or more! My pay check would look like $2000 to $3000 as a E-3, E-4 is almost double! im tellin you, yall need to join the navy.
but back on subject. after my shift is over (if im not at sea) i should be able to go home a mess around with this stuff.so im not going to be completly gone or i might be in another country or so.

I'm enlisting in the Navy after I leave high school. I'll hopefully be an E-3 right away. I intend to be a GM (Gunner's Mate) in the Navy, or go for Journalism if Gunner's Mate is not available. I wish you good luck in the Navy.

are you in J.R.O.T.C.? 3 years in that, and you'll instantly get bumped up to E-3. the class is so fun, you would be looking forward to it.

Gunner's mate. hmmm. get ready to be handling some heavy weapons! it sucks thou since gunner's mate, and master arms are the only two jobs that handle rifles. in basic, all that they will train you with is a 9mm pistol and a 12 guage. gunner mates and master arms practice with the m16 and the m249 saw. i had that opition for gunners mate. but AZ sounded better. have you been sworn in yet?

Yes, I'm currently in a NJROTC class. My rank is C/PO2. It is a very interesting class and I have absolutely no regrets. Being a Gunner's Mate will be the best job for me, since I just absolutely love firearms. You train with the M9 pistol and M500 shotgun. Gunner's Mate also handle M16s, M249s, Mk 19s, M240s, M2s, M242 Bushmasters, M79s, and many others.

ya sound like your ready for it.when i was in AJROTC, i was a 1st lieutenant=lieutenant junior grade (USN) and i was the company xo. i was over everyone except my commander (which i should of had that job but is ok). ranks are different from the army and the navy. are you in canada?

never heard of a cheif petty officer 2nd class. well in about 3 months i will be shiped out to basic. what grade are you in? 11th? 12th?

I know how much pay there is in the military. If I were to join, I'd enter as an officer with much higher pay.

The military isn't for me, though, which is why I don't join.

I'm in the USA and I'm a sophomore (10th). The "C" in "C/PO2" is supposed to be Cadet, to distinguish me as a JROTC PO2 instead of a real PO2.

ok. never was in navy ROTC. in the army ROTC we just said 1st Lt. or so on. in the book it said cadet whatever.

hey. is thier a aitargetcanbeseen condition/action? i need it for a stealth game im making. because aitargetdistwithin=X makes them snap to me in the dark! pitch black! no light! just need one command.

I would, but I can't right now.

Mainly, every script I make or help people with is under the assumption that they use PB (it just makes everything easier). Also, I don't use FPSC anymore, so I would not be able to test your script, just look it over for any errors that I can spot.
