Hi guys i have that wierd idea, first of all i know that shaders won't ever work on sprites in 2D envoirment(even knowing that sprites are just some sort of special plains because of calling them activates 3d envoirment in the game and backdrop is automaticly enabled) but, i wonder:

If it's possible to pass all 2D envoirment on screen with get image or some other method to a plain which can be affected by a shader?Something like drawing the actuall game in 2D and making all of it's mechanics in 2D but passing actual playing trought geting image of screen to another camera which can apply shader and pass back rendered result.Actually the final result is gonna be the important one because it's gonna be what the player must see and somehow actual 2d stays hidden.I'm not sure if i express myself very good.

Yes that would work perfectly fine.

My computer surpasses all the technologies of the day. What computer do I have?

What would be even better and has a ton more functionality (way more)... in DBP that is, is to just use 3d plains (even better would be to use 3d triangles) setup in a 2d environment.

A dream is a fantasy, if you achieve that fantasy it was never a dream to begin with.

Just wanted to know if it's really possible to do something like this.I'm highly motivated to start a project now and was unsure what kind of obsticles i can get in the way.For example if i have a wrapper or plugin for 2D and i don't have something simmilar for 3D (or using plains make it 2.5D, i'm not sure)and unable to write it myself this method could help.

I haven't tried it myself but the 2D Plugin Kit has a shader and a particle system for 2D.

Maybe you could try the new version of Image Kit?

You can paste images stretched or rotated on the screen, and use shaders.

Cheers!
