A while back, before v1.17 was released, i had successfully made an enemy invisible. When making a texture that was pure black didn't work, i just exported an area of an empty transparent project from gimp, and tried that. It did work, my enemy was completely invisible. But now, ever since i upgraded to 1.17, even with that transparent texture applied to the enemy, they appear all black, but visible. It's a TGA image. And even though it had worked before in that format, i still tried it as a DDS. The enemy is still black. I even tried making an entire different transparent image the same way, (in case the previous one was corrupt or something) and the enemy still shows up black. I haven't used FPSC in quite a while, and i'm just now getting back to it, so i'm still in the process of refreshing my memory. Is there anything else i need to do besides just apply the transparent texture to the "Texture" field in the in-game properties? Or does this just have something to do with v1.17?
If so, is there any way to fix/bypass the issue?

I hope you guys understand what i'm talking about...

Cheers, Jake

...turning shaders on should solve this problem.

try using an alpha channel to make it transparent.
use gimp or photoshop to do this.

good frame rates matter...

@ Seth Black - The enemy still appears black... I have no idea what could be causing this...

@ uzi idiot - What do you mean? This is kind of a stupid question but... What exactly is an alpha channel?

EDIT: Are there any other visual properties that need to be set to something specific?

Cheers, Jake

Wow... I haven't used FPSC in so long, i forgot that if you want a setting on/changed, you have to do it in "preferences", THEN "build game". That was awful stupid of me... I'm sorry for waisting your time guys. I do appreciate you trying to help me though. Thanks.

@ uzi idiot - It's working fine now, i just forgot that you have to change the preferences before you can even change the build game settings. I haven't used FPSC in a while, and i'm just getting back into it, so i've forgotten some things. I feel kinda stupid now... But thanks everyone, i still appreciate you trying to help.

@King Of Khoas

An Alpha channel is a layer of transparency in a image, I'm not really sure why it's called a Aplha channel but I'm sure it has a good explanation why it is.

Windows 7, Amd Athlon 7750 Black Editon (64 bit,3ghz + Dual Core), ATI Readon HD 4870 1gb Edition, 4gb Ram.
