Hello

I'm having a terrible time with a model (not that sort - an ascii .x one). Try as I might, I cannot get a texture onto it. I wondered if anyone could help. Here's the model:

http://glasstowers.co.uk/editedpot.zip

I know it's small, I'm scaling it up:

All the textures I've tried are square. I've tried loading it into 3dws and playing with it, but 3dws can't texture it either. I've tried converting it into another format and back again, but without success. I've even looked into editing the file directly in notepad, but that looked headachey.

If anyone could shed some light on this I would be very grateful

Cheers

I had a similiar problem with some objects I made in Blender where they just showed a black surface.

I finally fixed it by Unwrapping it in Blender, creating a UV texture map. Don't need to add an actual texture, just make sure it has a UV map.

Your model doesn't have any texture UV coords or normals so it's not surprising it shows blank.

Export it from your modeller again and make sure you have UV coords and normals included.

Looks like you've given it normals too.

Jambo B should find your version very helpful.

Done. Put your mouse over your glass and press the middle button.

It'd be nice if that worked, wouldn't it?
