I made this post hoping that lee would consider making a 64bit version of fpsc. also to see who all own a up to date pc that runs windows 64bit.the for reason for this is because the memory cap has been a big issue for this program.if the 32bit has a 2gb memory cap than the 64bit must go way beyond that. I was reading up on how much a different is between 32bit vs 64bit.here see for your self and everyone is welcome to say what they think about this.

64-bit Windows vs 32-bit Windows

* Virtual memory
o 16 TB, 4 GB
* Paging file
o 512 TB, 16 TB
* System cache
o 1 TB, 1 GB

more than what meets the eye

It's not going to happen since it was programmed using DBP, which wasn't written in a very 64-bit friendly way.

Apart from which, 2GB should be plenty of memory for even the most modern games. Should...

I think 32bit is just fine.

Going forward game development will be done on 64bit machines because of the need for virtualisation on large scale maps.

This isn't really necessary on FPSC right now and I don't think Lee has any plans for it.

I use windows 7 64 bit. I don't know much about the inner workings of a computer, But I notice a difference between me and my wife's computer. Her's is windows 7 32 bit with 4 gigs of ram, mine is the exact same (bought together on the same day) except mine is 64 bit and things like Microsoft word loads twice as fast on mine. But the program needs to be 64 bit compatible for any real speed/functionality gain. Remember I am no expert this is just observation.

I've tried using 64bit Windows but I didn't like how it creates 2 program file directories for all the 32bit applications.

If FPSC ever supports 64bit I'll upgrade but I don't think 64bit gaming is offering enough over 32bit right now.

Multi core support in FPSC would actually be a great thing like if lightmapping was handled on 1 core, physics on another and AI on another for example.

Took me less than a week to get used to it, and now I find it really useful.

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

My new pc spec's
Nvidia gtx 480 1,7 gigs
i7 940 3,4 ghz
Ram 18 gigabytes
2 TB hdd
60 gb ssd

And Fpsc uses 1/5 and much less and still runs fLIking fast I use 64 bit windows 7 and sure there is allot of diference betwen 64 and 32 but the only game that i will see the difference from my old pc and my new pc is Crisis...So When Fpsc will be capable of making games like Crisis then we should talk about Fpsc 64 bit until then have a nice gaming experience.....
