I was wondering if there was any way to turn off or get rid of the hands for the player, so just the weapon shows? I have searched the forums and i can't find any thread regarding this.

Cheers, Jake

To do this you would need to edit the model as FPSC doesn't support this kind of feature.

You can find it in Files/gamecore/guns/*GunFolder* and it's a file called hud.x YOu will need to make sure you have a model editing program such as Blender, Wings, Milkshape or Fragmotion.

Wow... The HUD.x file is just a ton of random characters that don't make any sense to me. Could i just create a transparent texture (nothing but transparency) and somehow apply it to the hands? If so, where does it specify what texture to use?

You could yes, the reason it's a bunch of random numbers is because you have to open it in modeling software.

I don't know how to change or even do anything at all to a model using modeling software. I was just wondering if there was a simple dds/tga texture for the hands that i could replace?

Yeah, if you use something like gimp you can use the erase tool to remove the textures.

Normally there is a texture file in the gun folder called hands.

You can also replace the handmap texture (i.e. 'Hand_D.jpg') with a transparent texture.

I looked in the weapon's folder that i found in "guns", but there's no texture for the hands. The only textures in there are the texture for the weapon, and the texture for the ammo. I had a feeling this would be difficult.

Which weapon's hands are you trying to remove? If it is an EAI weapon, the file is called Hand_D.jpg. If it is a JFletcher gun (the beretta from the Store), it is built in with the texture. If it's a MP5 gun, I think it's called Hand_D.jpg, same with MP6.

Not sure why you would want to get rid of the hands as this was a feature people wanted for a long time.

@ PW Productions - It's bond1's demon sceptre

@ s4real - The reason i want to get rid of the hands is because it is a female character the player plays as, and i can't find any female hands anywhere.

With EAI's hands when I made a multiplayer game and forgot to put in the hand texture, the hands were invisible. Try removing the hand textures from the gamecore/guns. It'll either turn the hands white or invisible. If you can't find the hands check in the actual weapon texture. and make sure you have an image editor like paint.net which can support dds image files.

EAI's MP9/10 hands have female hand textures in the Bonus Material for MP9 & MP10 users folder it installs.

Bond1's hands texture is implemented to the weapon's texture. Just get gun_d2.dds and turn the right side 100% black to make it transparent in-game.

I'd love to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my bum.

Wait, why did bond1 implant the hand texture into the gun texture ? I guess it's not a bad idea because if you have a weapon with a shader it will be easier to get seperate shaders working for both.

Thank you Aaagreen for telling me that, otherwise i probably would've searched forever. So after a bunch of editing and converting, i finally got the hand to be invisible.

Thanks to everyone else for trying to help too!
