Every time i go to run my program i get a message saying my dbpro compiler has stopped working. anyone know what causes this?? and more importantly how i can fix it? thanks.

My DBPro won't compile if my program is not in the Projects folder. Also be sure to open and try to run a .DBPRO file, no the DBA..

If you are trying to compile a huge program, maybe windows thinks the application is lockedup/not responding, because it is too busy eating CPU time, to talk to windows?

well i have vista and if i put it in my projects folder than the program runs another error. does anyone else know what can cause this?

Firstly have you followed all the Win Vista advice given on the compatibility thread?

Secondly, might help us a little if you told us what the error actually was that you were getting?

ive downloaded the new version. however i still have the old editor for some reason. i know im obviously doing something wrong. is it perhaps where i put the file? i put it in the documents folder because my teacher told me to. would it run in the program file? and the error is not from the dbpro itself. its from windows saying "dbpro compiler has stopped working" then claims to find a solution but doesnt.

I usually save all of my projects in my documents as well (I prefer not to save things like that in Program Files), and I was having a lot of trouble with the editor as well when I downloaded the new version.

I'm not sure if that is actually what's causing the issue, but you could try to save your projects to the specified folder in the Program Files and see if running them from there helps.

If (like me) you really don't want to do that and want to keep your files saved in your Documents, I'd recommend using an alternate editor than what comes standard with DBPro. My personal preference is CodeSurge, it really is a great editor for DBPro projects and it alleviated all my compiler errors that I got when using the default editor.

that was the first thing i did, of course. she had no idea and its an online course so i cant exactly go in and have her look at it either. but thanks for the help anyways.
